Behind the Scenes: Engagement Shoot

Awwww....love is in the air, and we were so happy to capture those feelings with Aline and Jeff for their engagement photos.  This creative couple didn't want typical cookie-cutter photos to show to the world, so they called on us to create a special photo shoot just for them. They even incorporated a personal prop, Jeff's ukelele, since it is something so special to them.  Aline shared:
"When we first started dating, he would always play a song for me on the uke..."
These photos will always bring them back in time....
But before we share them, let's go behind the scenes!

Tiffany of Pin-Up Parlor styled Aline's hair twice for the couples two different looks.
She also gave Jeff a clean slick-back.  We take care of the gentlemen too!

Reinee of Project Face made sure Aline's lips matched her dresses.
We were all in awe of both of her dresses....a Betsey Johnson and a Bettie Paige.
Artiffact styled her more with these vintage Chanel-inspired clip-ons and vintage pearly necklace.

Joe of Joseph Alan Productions brought his green screen for the couple's save the date cards.
We can't wait to see how creative he gets with that!

We also went to a few different locations to capture some feel-good photos.
Saturn's Cafe in Berkeley was the perfect place for the lovebirds to share a milkshake...and a kiss!

Lila Sweets is So Stylish!

Check out our pretty pin-up Lila Sweets on the Hi, You're Stylish! column on the Ironing Board Collective blog.

Props to Austin Faustography for setting up such a good shot, and Artiffact for styling her!

All Pinned-Up at Ooh La La

Pin-Up Portfolios with East Bay Loop.  Photo by Move Photography.
A pin-up doesn't always need an event to look her best, but when there's something special going on, she'll go all out.  That's how we did it at the Ooh La La Networking event in Oakland.

I started off by going to my girl MisssCarlos at Bare Escentuals for some make-up.  She blended purples and blues for a pretty shade that went well with my lace-print dress.  Then Rockezi and I met up at the Pin-Up Parlor to get our hair done by Tiffany.

She gave me some loose curls and added a black rose to my 'do.  For Rockezi, she spent about an hour pin-curling her hair.  After leaving the parlor, we were ready to shine.

Oh no, that's not all, ladies.  At the event, we glammed up even more by visiting the Lash Bar.  You know it's a special night when the lashes come out to play.

Overall, we had a fabulous time meeting so many different people.  One guy, who was with another lady (his girlfriend?) had to stop and tell us how good we looked...we know it's true because we felt great!

Networking It

With an event around the corner, we want to make sure that the Bay knows about what we're doing.  So for the Ooh La La event, we created coupons for all of the goody bags, as well as business cards...6 different ones to be exact.  There are so many favorite photos, we can't just have one card to show off.

If you received a coupon in the goody bag or a card, we really hope to see you for a portfolio session!
